Just in time for the annual holiday orgy of rampant consumerism, Strauss and Mahler (previously: 1, 2, 3) have gone into business selling t-shirts. Click on this link, and you’ll find the pair in all their countercultural glory on a variety of apparel, suitable for kids from 2 to however many years one can expect to pile up with an uncompromising artistic vision and a difficult wife. Makes a great albeit potentially nonplussing gift! (Any and all profits, by the way, will benefit this place, which, as causes go, is one of the good ones.)
Tsk tsk, Gustav and Richard, no helmets, that’ll get you a ticket here in California. 🙂
Only if they get caught. Quick, crank “Als mir dein Lied erklang” and gun it!
Strauss and Mahler as rebel bikers, I like that.>>Floozie: Hey, Gustav, what are ya rebelling against? >Mahler: Whaddya got?>>Hmmmm…might need some work there.>>I just keep picturing the final scene of <>Easy Rider<> though–maybe the New Objectivists/Neo-Classicists are the gun-wielding yokels?
Later in life, Strauss became a conservative and started shilling for Ameriprise.
yes. this is fantastic.
As a Strauss and Mahler fan, I have really appreciated their appearences in cinematic re-enactments. For a future installment, I’d like to suggest Mahler and Strauss as Mulder and Scully from “The X-Files.” I think it would work all too well.
